Interventional Pain Physician

Releva Chronic Pain Centre exists to restore function and dignity for people living with persistent pain. As our Interventional Pain Physician you will lead evidence-based procedures and multimodal plans that patients can access quickly—often via self-referral—turning complex suffering into measurable relief in a growing Toronto clinic.

Performance Objectives

  • Perform 12–18 image-guided interventional procedures weekly (nerve blocks, radiofrequency, epidurals) with documented ≥70% pain-score reduction at 4-week follow-up.
  • Build and adjust individualized, OHIP-covered treatment pathways that integrate procedures, medication optimization and psychotherapy, achieving 80%+ patient-reported functional improvement within 90 days.
  • Triage new referrals within 7 days and deliver first-visit assessments that convert 85% of appropriate candidates into active treatment.
  • Collaborate daily with our multidisciplinary team to close care gaps, reducing unnecessary opioid use by 30% among your panel in the first year.
  • Contribute to clinic protocols and outcome tracking so Releva can scale high-quality interventional capacity while maintaining university-hospital affiliation standards.

Environment & Resources

You report to the Medical Director in a 1–10 person clinic in Etobicoke. You will have C-arm/ultrasound, dedicated procedure time, administrative support for billing and scheduling, and direct access to affiliated psychologists and internists. Early-stage setting means your clinical decisions shape operations immediately.

Essential Qualifications

  • FRCPC (Anesthesia, PM&R or equivalent) plus Pain Medicine fellowship; CPSO independent practice license in Ontario.
  • Demonstrated volume of ≥500 image-guided interventional procedures with published or internally tracked outcomes.
  • Proven ability to design multimodal plans that measurably reduce pain and opioid reliance in chronic non-cancer populations.
  • Comfort with self-referral workflows and rapid access models typical of community pain centres.

Role Selling Points

  • True patient-centered access: self-referral and short wait times let you treat people who otherwise wait months.
  • University- and hospital-affiliated colleagues in a compact, for-profit clinic where your voice directly influences growth.
  • OHIP-covered interventional and allied services under one roof—no fragmented care.
  • Early-stage impact: help define protocols that will become the Releva standard as we expand.
