Locum Hospitalist Physician

Central Ontario | Approximately 2 Hours from Toronto

A well-supported community hospital in Central Ontario is seeking Locum Hospitalists to provide inpatient coverage during several upcoming 1-week blocks. This opportunity offers a manageable census, strong specialist backup, and competitive weekly compensation.

Locum Dates (1-Week Blocks: Monday–Monday)

Critical Coverage Needed

• February 9 – 16 (Holiday coverage required – Family Day Monday)
• March 23 – 30
• April 13 – 20
• April 27 – May 4

Additional Dates

• March 9 – 16
• March 30 – April 6

Compensation

Confirmed Stipend (Specific Weeks)

• $7,050 weekly for a full-time line
• Includes holiday weekend premium
• Includes two overnights
• Goal census: ~25 patients
• Full coverage required on holiday Monday (where applicable)

Updated Stipend (Effective Soon – To Be Confirmed)

• $5,400 weekly + FFS billings (unless otherwise stated above)
• Includes two overnights
• Includes weekend and overnight premiums

Additional Benefits

• Up to $150/day accommodation reimbursement

Position Details

• 1-week locum blocks (Mon–Mon)
• Overnight shifts: 11:00 PM – 7:00 AM
• EMR: Cerner (PowerChart)
• Target census: up to 25 inpatients
• Support from 2 Nurse Practitioners with MRP status

• Closed ICU (10 beds, staffed by intensivists)
• Schedule 1 Psychiatry Facility
• 25 inpatient beds + 4 ECA beds
• Internal Medicine

• Geriatrics
• Cardiac Care Clinic
• Level 2c Obstetrical Centre with Level 2 Nursery
• Critical Care Response Team (CCRT)

Diagnostic & Imaging Services

• Full laboratory services
• MRI
• CT
• Ultrasound
• X-Ray
• Nuclear Medicine
• Interventional Radiology (IR)

Requirements

• Independent CPSO license
• ACLS certification
